Ethel Frances Humienny, 95, of Yardley, Pennsylvania, wife of the late John F. Humienny, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Ethel was born in New York City to the late Joseph and Anna Mitro on November 21, 1930. She graduated from Evander Childs High School in the Bronx, New York, and completed two years of study at New York University, after which she married and devoted her life to her family.
Ethel later made her home in Floral Park, New York, on Long Island, where she and her husband brought up their four children. After raising her family, she enjoyed a long and successful career as a sales representative for both Gillette and Playtex.
Ethel and John also cherished summers at their second home in Atlantic Beach, North Carolina. She found joy in browsing antique shops, collecting treasured pieces, socializing with the Lower Makefield Seniors, exploring history with The Questers, and, above all, spending time with her family. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Garden City, New York, and later of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Yardley, Pennsylvania.
Ethel is survived by her children: Laurel Boeschen of East Meadow, New York; Robert Humienny and his wife, Heather, of Yardley, Pennsylvania; Thomas Humienny and his wife, Christine, of Riverview, Florida; and Mark Humienny and his wife, Sumayya, of Raleigh, North Carolina; her five grandchildren and three great‑grandchildren; and her three nephews and two nieces. She was, throughout her long life, a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great‑grandmother, and a cherished neighbor and friend.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John F. Humienny; her parents, Joseph and Anna Mitro; and her sister, Irene Ponce.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 752 Big Oak Road Yardley, PA 19067, on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at 1:00 p.m., with Reverend William Monahan officiating.
