Donna Marie Rossi of Yardley passed away peacefully Friday, June 16, two days after turning 55.
Born in Trenton, Donna was a fierce advocate for improving the lives of children, both at home through St. John the Evangelist’s annual Jesse Tree program to provide gifts the area’s children in need at Christmas time, and abroad through the Unbound organization, which provides programs to sponsor children in impoverished nations.
She kept a strong, tight-knit inner circle of friends and family of whom she was always a fierce supporter. Strong-willed and tenacious at every step of her life, Donna firmly believed we are defined by small moments which often go unnoticed, relishing the random acts of kindness. The family’s annual trip to the Outer Banks was a highlight each year, and she enjoyed watching tennis, baseball, and NASCAR.
Relatives and friends are invited to a public viewing from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, at FitzGerald-Sommer Funeral Home, 17 South Delaware Ave., Yardley, PA, 19067. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 752 Big Oak Road, Morrisville, PA 19067. The family asks those who attend to please wear purple or to bring an item in Donna’s favorite color in remembrance of her.
