Jeffrey Stephen Selk, a longtime resident of Bloomsburg and Yardley, Pa., passed away on May 29, 2024.
Jeffrey graduated from both Berwick High School, Berwick, PA and Temple University where he played varsity football at quarterback and was coached by Hall- of- Fame coach, Wayne Hardin. He received a BS degree in Chemistry from Temple University and a doctor’s degree in medicine from PCOM (Philadelphia, PA). Jeffrey was double board certified in anesthesia and pain management. He practiced in various hospitals in Bucks County (including Delaware Valley Medical Center, now Jefferson Bucks Hospital), Philadelphia and New Jersey. He was a founding partner of Delaware Valley Anesthesia Associates and Delaware Valley Pain Management, in Langhorne, PA, until his retirement. He was a member in good standing of numerous medical associations and societies.
Jeffrey loved sports, but mostly he loved football. He was also a great golf enthusiast and played often and frequently, when he could, at Yardley Golf Club, where he was a longtime member.
Jeffrey was predeceased by his late wife, Earlene Reap Selk. He was the only son of the late Kathryn Zupa Selk and Dr. Rex Edward Selk. He is survived by his only sister, Sharon E. Selk of Atlanta, GA. and his many cousins including Michael Holodick, of Wilmington, DE, Dr. Eugene McGuire, of Allentown, PA, Attorney James D, McGuire, and Michael, Christopher and Eric McGuire, of Atlanta, GA.
The family will receive guests on Thursday evening, June 13, 2024 from 7-9 PM at the J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, 41 W. Trenton Ave., Morrisville, PA 19067.
Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate his Memorial Mass on Friday, June 14, 2024 at 10:15 AM at Saint John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 752 Big Oak Road, Morrisville, PA 19067. His interment will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in Dr. Selk’s name be made to the American Kidney Fund, 11921 Rockville Pike #300, Rockville, MD 20852 (www. kidney fund.org).
