Lee J. Milas, M.D., 31, of Lower Makefield Township, PA, passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2019, at St. Mary Medical Center, Langhorne, PA.
Born in Washington, DC, he has been a resident of Lower Makefield, PA for the past 26 years.
Lee J. was a proud Pennsbury 2005 graduate where he lettered in both soccer and wrestling. He eclipsed 100 career wins in wrestling in 3 seasons-a remarkable feat. At the national level, he won double All-American status in Freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling in Fargo, ND. Lee J. was likewise academically gifted and was awarded the Bucks Co. Courier Times Male Scholar Athlete of 2005. He furthered his education at Penn State University Schreyer Honors College graduating in 2009 with honors in Biology graduating in the top 10% of his class making the dean’s list 8/8 semesters. Later he pursued his medical education at the George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. and received his medical degree 2015 in the research track. His research projects involved kinesin mutant plant genes, limb ischemia, and spinal cord blood flow. Throughout his education he continued wrestling, playing soccer, and serving as a soccer referee. He was always one for a quick pick-up soccer match at Macclesfield Park. He went on to pursue a career in Urology, entering residency training at Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson, New Brunswick. Lee J will be forever remembered for his outdoors spirit and love of hunting, fishing, and hiking. His love of the wilderness prompted him to volunteer as a camp physician at Montana’s Camp Mak-A-Dream for children and adolescents stricken with cancer. Lee J. will be dearly missed by his family and his friends who loved him.
Predeceased by his brother, Robert A. Milas, his maternal grandparents, William J. and Catherine Best, he is survived by his loving parents, Leo J. and Bonnie L. Best Milas, M.D., his paternal grandparents, Veronica L. Servov, and John E. Milas, aunts and uncles, Debra and William Wallace, Janet and Michael Danko, and Edward and Lori Milas, cousins, Tara and Alan Wallace, Michael and Matthew Danko, and Nicholas and Natalie Milas, and many friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 27, 2019, at 10:30 a.m., at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 752 Big Oak Road, Morrisville, PA 19067.
Interment will be private.
