Shirley Wasiakowski, of Yardley, died peacefully Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at Yardley Rehabilitation Center, she was 82 years old.
Born in Berwick, PA, she was raised in Briggsville, PA, and a 1959 graduate of Nescopek High School, she was formerly of Morrisville, and had been a long time Lower Makefield Township resident.
Shirley was a former PBX operator with Strick Tractor Trailer and Lenox companies, she retired from the Pennsbury School District where she worked as a payroll clerk for many years. She was a huge crafter, and skilled at crochet and embroidery, a member of the Emanon Craft Club, and enjoyed time spent with the Red Hat Lovelies.
A wonderful cook, she was a former winner of the Betty Crocker and Future Homemakers of America awards, and had a love of thrift stores and yard sales. She was also a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church where she served as a Eucharistic Minister.
Wife of the late Joseph J. Wasiakowski, she is survived by her devoted son, Mark, and his wife Linda and was a proud Grammie to Aimee Wasiakowski.
Born one of eight children to the late Ralph and Verna Cool, she will also be sadly missed by her two brothers, Ralph “Beanie” Cool, and Fredrick Cool (Janet), many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends
Her funeral mass will be celebrated Thursday, December 7, 2023, 11:00 AM, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 725 Big Oak Road, Morrisville, PA, where relatives and friends may call from 10:00 AM until time of her mass. Interment will follow at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery precisely at 1:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Shirley’s name can be made to the Bucks County SPCA, 1665 Street Road, New Hope, PA 18938.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Beck-Givnish Life Celebration Home, Inc., Levittown, PA
