Born in Philadelphia, PA, he resided in Levittown and then Morrisville over the last 47 years. Bill was honorably discharged after having served active duty in Europe for the US Army. He was a truck driver for the majority of his life. He enjoyed watching old western movies, betting on horse races, playing the lottery, weekends with his buddies in the Poconos or in Wildwood, or being at a good bar full of friends. He was a good husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many.
Predeceased by his parents, William J. and Isabella (French) Farrell, and his brothers, George and Alfred Farrell, he is survived by his wife, Katherine of 62 years; his daughter, Gracie Hoersdig; his son, William (Vicki) Farrell; his son, Anthony (Sheila) Farrell; his grandchildren, Felix, Heather, William, Julia, Jesse, Anthony, Hannah, Krysten and Heather; 21 great-grandchildren; his siblings, Isabella Dick, Jane Nottingham, Mary Gates and Ellen Phillips. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
A visitation will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025 from 9:30 am to 10:30 am, followed by Mass at 10:30 am at St. John the Evangelist Parish, 752 Big Oak Road, Morrisville, PA 19067.
Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery in Bensalem, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Bill’s name to the Wounded Warrior Project or to your local SPCA/animal shelter.
