It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that Jim and Gwen DeForte announce the passing of our beloved son, Alexander John Blaise DeForte. Alex entered eternal life at the young age of 21 on May 20, 2024, as the result of a tragic car accident on his way home from work. We are deeply saddened by this sudden loss of Alex, who was very kind, gentle, and enjoyed life with a generous spirit that was felt by everyone he met.
Alex is a 2022 graduate of Hopewell Valley Central High School, Pennington, NJ. Alex loved being outdoors, whether working or relaxing. His passion was fishing, which began when he was about three years old while camping with relatives and family friends in Upstate New York. If there was a stream, a pond or lake nearby, he could be found sitting on the bank with pole in hand (even if he was supposed to be somewhere else!) Alex could tell you the name of and details on every fish imaginable, whether fresh water or from the sea. He loved camping, skateboarding, and cooking. Alex was also a dedicated employee and thoroughly enjoyed the companies he worked for. The companies included his most recent employer, Nacerima Demolition & Recycling, Inc. at the Stavola Bound Brook Quarry. He previously worked at Hardy Nurseries, Pennington, NJ where he was a skilled landscaper; and Alex had the opportunity to work alongside his brother at Al’s Sunoco, Pennington, NJ.
