Michael Kozak

Michael Gerard Kozak, aka “Mike, Mikey, Prozac, Buzzkill, Ro Ro and his own personal nicknames for himself: “Mom’s Favorite” and “Your favorite little brother.” Michael passed away unexpectedly and suddenly from heart failure on May 17, 2025.

Michael was a character. Unforgettable. No one had more one liners or a quicker, drier wit than Michael. He was also blessed with great comedic timing. If you were around him you knew you would be laughing, often in shock. It might be the exact thing you’d be thinking but would never say out loud. Michael didn’t care – he’d say it and with flair. Always the entire group around him would crack up in amazement. He was that funny. Fine dining with him could be as simple as Chick Fil A – one of his faves, along with DiLorenzo’s Pizza – and you’d laugh so hard you’d remember your evening years later.

Michael was kind, empathetic, curious, musical, unfiltered, and just fun to be around. Didn’t matter the occasion, the location, the company or the topic. Friends and family always benefited from his self -deprecating, fun loving, spirit. We will be quoting him often and missing his smile and wit forever.

Michael loved Villanova basketball, Eagles football, Notre Dame college football, jazz music, the Beatles, the Stones, Guns n Roses, playing the drums (an avid drummer since high school and a Villanova Basketball Pep Band drummer), the beach, the Jersey shore, and swimming in the ocean. He was obsessed with classic cars, from muscle cars to Porsche 911, to Ferraris, to vintage racing models – if there was any car show nearby, Michael was game to go. He was also a big movie and TV fan, especially classic shows from when he was a kid in the 80s. Favorites include Die Hard, Knight Rider, Magnum PI, the A-Team, SNL, Beverly Hills Cop, and Press Your Luck Game Show.

Mike was an attorney for many years, practicing in Hawaii, California, Pennsylvania, and most recently New Jersey. He primarily practiced employment law, but also agency, construction, landlord tenant, insurance defense, and even civil rights. He was known as a compassionate lawyer with a sense of humor for his clients.

Michael was a wonderful son, brother, uncle, nephew, brother in law, cousin, colleague and friend. He will be tremendously missed by all who knew and loved him.

A viewing for Michael will be held Monday, June 2, 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 752 Big Oak Road, Morrisville, Pennsylvania 19067, followed by his funeral mass at 10:30 AM. He will be laid to rest following mass at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery, 1215 Super Highway, Langhorne, Pennsylvania 19047.
