Raymond J. Mitchell, age 92, of Cape Coral, FL, formerly of Morrisville, PA, passed away peacefully on Feb. 28, 2017 at Lee Memorial Health System, Ft. Myers, FL. Born in Morrisville, he lived in Morrisville for 64 years before relocating to Florida 28 years ago.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a heavy equipment operator with Warner Sand and Gravel for 40 years. Mr. Mitchell was a 4th degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus, a member of the VFW and the Moose Club, and a proud Army Veteran of WWII, Battalion 3 at the Battle of the Bulge. He was also an avid gardener.
Son of the late James J. and Marion (Taylor) Mitchell, and brother of the late James, Edward, Alfred, and Lawrence Mitchell and Ann Rupprecht, he is survived by his loving wife Dolores (Bahr) Mitchell, four children, Marie (William) Thomas of Sellersville, PA, Raymond Mitchell, Jr. of Cape Coral, FL, Reid (Margaret) Mitchell of San Marcos, CA, and Cecelia (Floyd) Marshall of MN, a brother Francis Mitchell of Levittown, PA, 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate his funeral mass at 11 AM on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 752 Big Oak Rd., Yardley, PA.
Interment will follow in Our Lady of Grace Cemetery, Langhorne, PA.
