Activities on the Grounds of St. John the Evangelist
Prepare sandwiches for the Trenton Soup Kitchen.   Volunteers will work in the church convent. * Make lap blankets for hospital and nursing home patients. Join your fellow volunteers in the church cafeteria. *
Assemble jar soup mixes to sell with the proceeds going to the mission in El Salvador. * In the church cafeteria, pack and wrap gifts for new mothers in need*
Sort donated new or gently used winter coats in the old church. Come to the convent to sew, knit, or crochet items for children in need.
Put together care bags for children in the Willard School in Philadelphia. We will work in the old church. * Prepare Aids for Friends meals. Volunteers will prepare soup and meals at home and package them for distribution. Some cooking will also been done at the convent.
Create birthday boxes for children in need. Volunteers will work in the cafeteria. * Assemble personal care kits for the homeless. This will take place in the old church. **
Make Jesse tree tags. Volunteers will work in the cafeteria. * Attend the bakery basket on Sunday, November 1, and donate a food item for a local food pantry. *
Activities in the Community
Collect Furniture – Volunteers will “go on the road” to pick up the items from donors’ homes and deliver them to local agencies. Visit shut–ins at Manor Care to share a little conversation and a small gift.
Clean up yards of those in need. Locations will be shared on the day of service. Sing Along with the choir at a local nursing home. Time and location to be announced.
On Saturday, October 24th, pack rice and beans for Syrian refugees. Volunteers will work at the First Presbyterian Church on 5918 Emilie Bristol Road, Levittown, PA. Contact Betty DeGroat at or call 215-428-0217 for more information.
