As many of you are aware, immediately following our 7:00 PM evening Mass on November 1st, Father O’Sullivan was taken by ambulance to St. Mary’s Medical Center. Upon arrival at the hospital, the doctors diagnosed that Father had perforated his bowel, probably a week before he arrived at the hospital on November 1st.

Father underwent surgery on the morning of Thursday, November 2nd to address his perforated bowel and to remove two infectious abscesses that had developed in his abdomen and his leg.

After his surgery on Thursday morning Father was kept in a medically-induced coma until Saturday afternoon.

After spending a week in the critical care unit at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Father was transferred to a rehabilitation center where he is receiving physical therapy to restore his health.

Due to the seriousness of his surgery and condition Father O’Sullivan has been told by his doctors that he needs two to three months of complete rest before he can return to any normal Pastoral activities at the parish.

In the meantime our Parish staff and many of our parishioners are working to make sure that our Ministries and activities continue on a normal basis in our Parish.

Please continue to keep Father O’Sullivan in your prayers during his recovery, so that we can welcome him back to our parish as soon as his doctors say he is physically able to return to his ministry among us.
