He was born in Danville on August 6, 1943, the son of the late Joseph Bubnis Sr. and Regina (Zakewski) Bubnis.
John was a graduate of Pennsbury High School, Class of 1961. He proudly served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1965 to 1971.
John was a hardworking man who dedicated his life to providing for his family. Above all else, he loved his family deeply, and his daughters were truly his world. Known for his quick wit and love of cracking jokes, John had a way of making people smile wherever he went. Those who had the opportunity to work with him respected and cared for him greatly, a reflection of the kindness and character he carried throughout his life.
John will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his sense of humor, and most of all, the love he had for his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
John is survived by his grandchildren, Rebecca Doan, Rachel Doan, and Matthew Bailley; a great-grandchild, Ariela Renae Davis; and cousin, Natalie Ann. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Bubnis; three daughters, Rene Doan, Michelle Bailley, and Jennifer Bubnis; and his brother, Joe Bubnis Jr.
He will also be deeply missed by his close friends Paul Humphrey, Sandra Argumedes, Theresa Kraus, Brittany Borie, Heather Valerius, Amber Burgos, Melinda Dutcher, and many other friends whose lives he touched.
Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. William J. Monahan officiating in St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Morrisville, PA. Viewing will be held in the Church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Burial will be held on Thursday, March 19th, at noon in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Kulpmont, PA.
