SJE Jr. CYO Welcome Letter * Event Rules & Dress Code * Enrollment Form * Events Schedule
August 31, 2009 Dear Parents of 6th, 7th and 8th graders:
We are all very excited about the start of a new school year, and we are looking forward to a wonderful Junior CYO year with your children!
Junior CYO provides an opportunity for the children in 6th-8th grades to participate in many activities, enabling them to grow through service and spiritual opportunities, as well as providing them with cultural and social events.
We are looking forward to the many events we have planned for this year. Our first members-only event will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2009. We will be celebrating 5:30 p.m. Mass together as a group, followed by pizza and “Name that Tune” in the Parish Center.
As with many other programs involving your children, we rely on your assistance to enable us to provide a safe and enjoyable environment. Archdiocesan and Parish rules mandate a minimum number of chaperones that should be present at youth ministry events. Please note that, in the event we do not have a sufficient number of chaperones for an event 24 hours prior, that event will be cancelled. Therefore, we ask that you continue to give of your time, as chaperones or event coordinators. If your child attends the Junior CYO dances, please chaperone at one.
Also note that serving as a coordinator for an event fulfills this requirement. If you would be interested in serving in this capacity for any event, please contact Kim DiPierro at kimdipierro@comcast.net
Currently, we are in need of the following: “Souper Bowl of Caring” Coordinator- Feb. 6&7, 2010. Cultural Events Coordinator – Coordinate/Contact person for a cultural event.
Please return the attached page with the completed enrollment form and the one copy of the Activity Sign-up Sheet on the back plus a $15.00 membership fee, (checks made payable to “St. John the Evangelist Jr. CYO”). The other copy of the Activity Sign-Up Sheet is for your reference throughout the year.

If there are any special ideas you may have, please share them with us, through our e-mail, or at the board meetings. Fresh ideas and new faces are always welcome to help us make this a memorable year for your children.
Please feel free to share this information with anyone else that may have been inadvertently omitted from this distribution list – all 6th, 7th and 8th graders in the parish are welcome!
